Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein, amtlich Fürstentum Liechtenstein, ist ein Binnenstaat in Mitteleuropa und flächenmässig der sechstkleinste Staat der Welt. Liechtenstein ist eine konstitutionelle Erbmonarchie auf demokratisch-parlamentarischer Grundlage. Die Souveränität liegt sowohl beim Volk als auch beim Fürsten. Das Alpenland Liechtenstein grenzt an die Schweiz und an Österreich. Hauptort und Fürstensitz ist Vaduz, der flächenmässig grösste Ort ist Triesenberg und der bevölkerungsreichste Ort ist Schaan. Der stark kultivierte Norden (Unterland) und der weniger bewirtschaftete Süden (Oberland) charakterisieren die Landschaft des Fürstentums.Liechtenstein hat 37.000 Einwohnern. Der Ausländeranteil beträgt 34 Prozent. Seit 1923 ist das Fürstentum verwaltungsmässig und wirtschaftlich eng mit der Schweiz verbunden. Die Monarchie ist nicht Mitglied der EU. Liechtenstein ist das zweitreichste Land nach Qatar und hat eine der niedrigsten Arbeitslosenquote (1,5%).

In der vorletzten Märzwoche wo ich frei hatte, bin ich nach Liechtenstein gefahren. Ich habe gehört, es sei ein schönes Land und mit der Bahn ist man von Davos aus in weniger als 2 Stunden da. Ein hervorragende Möglichkeit um ein neues Land zu erkunden. Früh am Morgen bin ich los und habe meinen Rucksack im Schließfach in der Innenstadt gelassen und hab mich erstmal auf dem Weg gemacht, zu den Winterwanderwegen, die ich vorher recherchiert hatte. Am Nachmittag bin ich dann wieder in den Hauptort Vaduz und dort rauf zum Schloß und habe mich ein wenig umgeschaut.

Ich habe in der einzigen Jugendherberge in Liechtenstein in der Stadt Schaan übernachtet. Ich hatte auch nette Zimmergenossinnen aus aller Welt. Am nächsten Tag bin ich ins Museum, welches sehr interessant war. Am Nachmittag bin ich dann wieder zurück in Richtung Davos, bin aber noch in eine weitere Stadt zum Sightseeing angehalten.

Liechtenstein, officially the Principality of Liechtenstein (German: Fürstentum Liechtenstein) is a doubly landlocked German-speaking microstate in Central Europe. It is a constitutional monarchy headed by the Prince of Liechtenstein. Liechtenstein is bordered by Switzerland and Austria. It has an area of just over 160 square kilometres (62 square miles) and an estimated population of 37,000. Its capital is Vaduz. Economically, Liechtenstein has the highest gross domestic product per person in the world. It is also the 2nd richest (by measure of GDP per capita) country in the world, after Qatar, and has one of the lowest unemployment rates at 1.5%. An alpine country, Liechtenstein is mainly mountainous. The country has a strong financial sector centered in Vaduz, and has been identified as a tax haven. It is not a member of the European Union.

 

Vaduz

In the week before the last week in March when I was off I took the train to Liechtenstein; a country I have never been before. I heard that it is supposed to be very beautiful. It is less than two hours away by train. It was a perfect possibility to visit. I left early in the morning; after arrival I left my backpack in a locker in the city center of Vaduz. I took the bus to the east part of the country to go hiking. I researched the hikes which seem to be nice and they were. In the afternoon I went back to the capital and walked up the hill to the castle and checked out a bit of Vaduz.

I stayed in the only youth hostel in Liechtenstein in the city of Schaan. I had nice roommates from all over the world. The next day I checked out the museum which is a great one. After that I took the train back towards Davos but took the opportunity to stop in another city for sightseeing.
