Das
neue Camp ist das totale Gegenteil. Um die 180 Arbeiter wohnen hier. Es gibt
fünf Container („dorm“ oder „pod“genannt) in dem je 34 Zimmer sind wo wir und
die Arbeiter wohnen. Jedes Dorm hat ein Zimmermädchen („camp attendant“ oder
kurz „campie“), das alle Zimmer saubermacht und ich bin eines davon. Das Camp
ist noch nicht offen; nicht jeder dorm ist an Wasser und Strom angeschlossen,
die Küche ist noch nicht bereit, so daß es ein temporäres kleines Camp gibt,
welches die selbe Ausmaße und Aufbau hat wie das „rig camp“ in dem ich vorher
war.
Alle
Kollegen sind sehr nett. Unser Job ist erstmal nur eine Grundreinigung der
dorms; besonders die Gänge sind voller Dreck vom Transport und Aufbau. In 5
Tagen haben wir alle gemeinsam mit Teamwork alle dorms bereit für die Arbeiter
(clients = Klienten) gemacht.
Dann
kam die Nachricht einer von uns sollte ins Nachbarcamp, da dort ein größerer
Personalmangel ist als bei uns. Schade, dachte ich, mir hat´s gerade hier
gefallen. Immerhin arbeitet Gonca da, die Deutsche die erst die Idee hatte im
Camp zu arbeiten. Wir wollten ja eh zusammen arbeiten: also alles gut.

The new camp is the total
opposite. About 180 workers (clients) are living there. There are five trailers
(called “dorm” or “pod”) with 34 rooms each. Each dorm has its own housekeeper
(camp attendant or campie) and I am one of them.
The camp is not open yet. Not
every dorm is hooked up onto water and power. The kitchen is not set up. There
is just a temporary small camp where we have breakfast, lunch and dinner. It
has the same set up as the rig camp I used to work before.

All co-workers are very nice. Our
job is deep cleaning everything. The hallways in the dorms are very muddy from
the transport and set up. It took us 5 days of teamwork to clean every dorm.
The day the workers (clients) arrive I was sent to the neighboring camp because they were short on staff. Damn, I thought, I have a great time here. The good thing is that Gonca, the German girl who had the idea to work in camps is working there. Our plan was to work together anyway so not bad at all.
