Mailand (italienisch Milano, lombardisch Milàn) ist mit 1,3 Millionen Einwohnern die zweitgrößte Stadt Italiens.
Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Geburtstagsgeschenk für meine Mutter. Ich habe ihr einen Gutschein für einen Kurztrip geschenkt und hab dabei die Art der Reise offen gelassen. Ich würde dann wenn es soweit ist kurzfristig nach Specials suchen. Sie hatte Ende August Geburtstag und ich bekomme meinen Dienstplan nur 4 Wochen vorher. Ich habe dann ein passendes verlängertes Wochenende Mitte Dezember gefunden. Ich bin zig Möglichkeiten abgecheckt und hatte dann am Ende zwei Ideen und mich dann letztenendes für eine Flugreise entschieden. Ich wollte Sie unbedingt ins Ausland entführen.
Ich bin dann zig Flughäfen und Airlines durchgegangen bis ich ein tolles Angebot gefunden hatte wo wir beide noch nicht waren.
Bis zum Abend vorher wußte Sie nicht wohin es ging, bis mich verplappert habe. Am 15. Dezember flogen wir dann mit Ryanair nach Mailand für 2 Nächte. Den Transfer und ein einfaches Hotel hatte ich auch direkt mitgebucht.
Ich bin zufrieden mit Ryanair. Für den günstigen Preis verlange ich auch nicht viel.
In Italien waren nur wenige Grad mehr aber für Dezember gut genug für einen Städtetrip. Vom Flughafen in die Innenstadt war es etwa eine Stunde mit dem Shuttle-Bus. Das Hotel war ein etwa 15minütiger Fußweg vom Bahnhof wo der Bus hielt entfernt. Es lag am Rande der Innenstadt und war recht großzügig, sehr einfach eingerichtet, nicht mehr die neuesten Möbel, aber sauber.
Nach Ankunft am frühen Nachmittag haben wir erst einmal unsere Gegend erkundet mit ein wenig Geocachen und spazierengehen.
Wir haben auch ein nettes Lokal zum Abendessen gefunden. Ich hab mir Mailand immer als sehr teuer und schick vorgestellt, aber davon konnte ich nichts sehen.
Am nächsten Morgen hatte ich eine Fahrt mit dem Hop on/Hop off-Bus geplant. Nach der Tour in Johannisburg habe ich daran Gefallen gefunden. Wir sind auch noch recht viel zu Fuß gegangen, haben viel Zeit rund um den Mailänder Dom verbracht, hier war gerade Weihnachtsmarkt, ein wenig Schaufensterbummeln, zum Aufwärmen im Café, - den im oben offenem Bus, wo man die beste Sicht hatte, war es doch recht frisch – und natürlich geocachen.
Mailand ist eine schöne Stadt mit tollen alten Gebäuden, günstigem Essen und Kaffee und auch in der Innenstadt nicht schicker als anderswo. Ich muß aber sagen, dass mir hier ein Tag reicht, denn so viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, die mich interessieren gibt es nicht. Es war aber ein toller Trip mit Mama, was ich jederzeit wieder machen würde und sie auch.

Milan is the main industrial and financial centre of Italy, it has the largest economy among European non-capital cities. The city is a major world fashion and design capital. Milan is home to two of Europe's major football teams, AC Milan and FC Internazionale.
I was thinking about the birthday present for my mom. I gave her a voucher for a short trip leaving it open what kind. I wanted to look for specials when we found the right time. Her birthday was in end of August and the time for our trip was mid of December. I checked out several possibilities until I had two totally different ideas. I decided to book a flight. I really wanted to take her abroad.
I searched lots of airports and airline until I found a great deal. My mom didn´t know the destination when I opened my mouth too wide the evening before.
We left December 15th with Ryanair to Milan for two nights. Together with the flights I booked the transfer and a very simple hotel.
Ryanair is ok. It is very cheap so the price-performance is just right. I paid less than 20 € return per person.
In Italy were only a few degrees more but quite alright for a short trip. From the airport to the city we took a shuttle bus. The ride took about an hour. From the Central station were we got dropped off to the hotel was about a walk of 15 minutes. It is located at the edge of the centre. The room was spacious and simply furnished; old but clean.
After arrival in the early afternoon wir explored the area around the accommodation and did some geocaching. For dinner we found a nice enough restaurant. My imagination of Milan was alway very chic and expensive but didn´t see it.
The next morning I had planned a tour with the Hop-on Hop-off-Bus. After I did this in Johannisburg I liked it. we also walked a lot and of course did geocaching. We spent some time around the famous Milan Cathedral where a Christmas Market took place. We did window shopping and had some coffee to warm up because the best seats were on the top of the bus where it was open. It was a bit cold.
Milan ist a beautiful city with many nice old buildings; well-priced food und coffee. The people in the city centre were not fancier than in the outskirts. I have to say one day is enough as there are not many sights I am intrested in. It was an awesome trip with my mom and I won´t hesitate to do another one and I am certain she liked I too.
