Sussis visit

Sussis visit

Alpine flower garden
Back then in spring of 2010 when I did a language course in the Spanish town Alicante I met the Swedish girl Sussi. At that time we hang around together almost every day. When she wanted to visit me it turned out that I am not at home but in Austria. She did not hesitate and came to Kitzbühel. She was here for about 10 days. We took the bikes to the neighboring “Kirchberg” and we went up the “Kitzbüheler Horn” where we walked through the alpine flower garden. We were also swimming in the lake “Schwarzsee” which had a temperature of nice and warm 24 ° and of course we did sightseeing in Kitzbühel. The last days Sussis mother came to visit s well. Her English was a bit poor but communication worked anyway. It was a very nice time.

Bike tour

Wilder Kaiser

Radeln

Bicycle

I live and work in a sport club. We offer hiking and mountain biking so I kinda feel obliged to use it. ;-) I have not done many bike tours, just visiting the next villages which have not a big difference in altitude.

In the sky

Über den Wolken ...

Our pilot and chef Kim.

In the sky

By chance sometime our cook Kim managed to get a pilot´s license next to other many things she did in her life. Upon request she takes guests on a round trip. With my colleague Anke and one client we drove to the airstrip and had a chance to watch this area from the air. I were flying a few times already – minimum five times so far – but never so close to high mountains. It was beautiful. The plane has a glass roof so you have a good view. We flew with a French Robin Remorqueur – just in case anybody knows something about flying. Awesome day.

My first hiking tours

Die ersten Wanderungen
Hiking tour

Hiking tour

My first hiking tours

Every week we have five hiking tours in different levels which Katja is guiding. The high meters changes from 300 to 1,300. I already did a few mostly of course the easier ones because you know I am not the most sportive person ever.

I also did some tours by myself as well as with colleagues.

Summer job in Kitzbuehel – world known high society town

Klang gut, also nahm ich an.

Summer job in Kitzbuehel – world known high society town.

After the winter season in the beautiful Westendorf in Tyrol, Austria as a service manager I applied again for different jobs with FROSCH Sportreisen. After a while I got the offer to manage the bar in Kitzbühel just 17 km away from Westendorf. Sounded good so I took the job. I was already two times in Kitzbühel, once for window shopping with my aunt and again visiting colleagues. If would be great to work somewhere in South Europe but I can live everywhere.

When I arrived 26 May in my new hometown Kim the chef were waiting for my at the train station. All the others were at a birthday party. I got my room (because in summer the house is not fully booked us permanent staff got our very own double room) and we had a pizza for dinner. The rest of my new colleagues I met at the next morning. There is Chris the house manager, I already had a little chat with him in winter and there are the reps Ulli (mountain biking) and Katja (hiking) – I met Katja during the service manager course last autumn. There is also Robert in service and Sedat the service manager, I also knew him from the course.

All of them seems to be very nice and I am looking forward to this job.

Infos about my new destination Kitzbühel

Kitzbühel (pronounced 'kɪtsbyːl) is a small medieval town in Tyrol, Austria. It has a population of about 8,100. The town is situated in the Kitzbühel Alps about 100 kilometres (62 mi) east of the state capital of Innsbruck. It is a ski resort of international renown.

Kitzbühel is one of Austria's best-known and fanciest winter sports resorts, situated between the mountains Hahnenkamm (5616 ft, 1712 m) and Kitzbühler Horn (6548 ft, 1996 m). The Hahnenkamm is home of the annual World Cup ski races, including the circuit's most important event, the downhill race on the famous Streif slope. This downhill is counted as one of the toughest downhill competitions in the World Cup.
Together with the pistes and ski lifts in neighbouring Kirchberg in Tirol, Jochberg and by the Thurn Pass Kitzbühel is one of the largest ski regions in Austria. With around 10,000 hotel and guest house beds, Kitzbühel and its neighbours have an unusually high density of guest accommodation.
Holidaymakers in Kitzbühel have 56 cableway and lift facilities and 168 kilometres of slopes available to them, as well as 40 kilometres of groomed cross-country skiing tracks. Of note is the relatively new 3S Cable Car, the cable car with the highest above-ground span in the world.
In summer there are 120 km (75 mi) of mountain bike paths and 500 km (311 mi) of hiking trails.

Other attractions include six tennis courts and four golf courses, the Kitzbühel swimming pool, Austria's only curling hall and the bathing lake of Schwarzsee.
Kitzbühel also caters for the high end of the tourist market, as many celebrities and the jet set come here for the international races on the Hahnenkamm.
