Auf der anderen Seite der Marmolada gibt es einen Lift, den wir einfach „den Käfig“ genannt haben. Es ist wirklich ein Käfig, in dem man alleine oder zu zweit drinnen steht. Runter gibt es nur eine Piste mit Abzweigungen. Der seltsamste Lift, den ich je gesehen habe.
Zwischendrin ist tiefer neuer Schnee, wodurch die meisten hindurchfahren. Für mich war es erst das zweite mal in so tiefem Schnee.

Nach ein paar Versuchen – ich bin ziemlich oft steckengeblieen und hatte große Probleme vorwärts zu kommen – habe ich es zu meiner großen Verwunderung geschafft einigermaßen den Abhang runterzukommen. Juheii.

“The cage”

On the other side of the glacier “Marmolada” there is a lift we call “the cage”. It is indeed a real cage in which you stand alone or in twos. The funniest lift I have ever seen. For the way down there is only one slope with diversions. In between there is a lot of deep snow. Most people ski down here. It was only my second time in this kind of snow.
In a while and many times that I was stuck I could manage it to arrive at the end. It was amazed by me. Hooray.

Das erste Mal mit dem Skiguiding

Nachdem das ein andermal nicht geklappt hat, war nun die letzte Chance mit meinen Kollegen mitzufahren; denn es ist die letzte geführte Tour in dieser Saison.
Die Lagazuoi-Tour wird häufig als die schönste angepriesen. Landschaftlich soll es wunderschön sein. Im Gegenzug davon gibt es viele und auch lange Ziehwege; nicht gerade schön für Snowboarder. Das Highlight ist eine Kutschfahrt, bei der die Skifahrer hinten an einem Seil gezogen werden; Snowboarder fahren in der Kutsche mit.
Fazit war, ich fand gar nicht, das es übermäßig viele Ziehwege gab; ein paar waren da, da wurde ich freundlicherweise von Gästen gezogen. Die Landschaft war superschön, wie natürlich überall in den Dolomiten.

The first time with the ski guides

After the first time I wanted to go  did not work out this was my last change because it is the last tour of this season.

The Lagazuoi-Tour is meant to be one of the most beautiful ones. The landscape is supposed to be lovely. In return there are quite a few and long flat paths, not perfect for a snowboarder. The highlight is that the skiers are pulled on a rope behind a horse carriage. Snowboarders have to sit in the carriage.

My conclusion is that there are a few long flat paths but not too many where I was pulled by my lovely guests. The landscape is stunning like of course everywhere in the Dolomites. Great tour.

Mit dem Team zum Schneeschuhwandern

Schon im letzten Jahr hatte ich Lust auf Wandern mit Schneeschuhen; aber man kommt ja immer nicht zu allem, was man sich vornimmt.
Irgendwer hatte den Vorschlag: Lass mal Schneeschuhwandern gehen. Da dachte ich nur super, bin dabei.

Our team

An unserem freien Tag am Mittwoch ging es mit dem gesamtem Team, welches gerade da war los. Wir sind zwei Stunden zunächst den Berg hoch und später in einer Ebene gewandert. Was ich gelernt habe, ohne Kater läufst besser. Vor allen Dingen bergauf. Man war ich fertig am Anfang.
Nach einer kurzen Pause wanderten wir den Weg wieder zurück.

Snowshoeing with the team

I already wanted to go snowshoe-hiking last winter. You hardly be able to do everthing you want to.

Somebody made the suggestion: Lets go snowshoeing. I thought awesome. I am in.

On our day off on Wednesday the whole team who is working at the moment went. We hiked for two hours at first just uphill. What I learned is that without a hangover it is better. Above all uphill. Oh my god was I exhausted in the beginning.

After a short break we walked back.

„Marmolada“ - endlich den Gletscher sehen

Die Marmolata (italienisch: Marmolada, ladinisch: Marmoleda; der Name soll von der Ähnlichkeit des Felsens mit Marmor herrühren) ist der höchste Berg und einzige große Gletscher der Dolomiten.

Eines mußte man unbedingt mal machen, auf die Marmolada. Ganz hoch kommt man zwar nicht aber dicht bei.

Ein weiterer Teamausflug und endlich fahre ich mit. Das Wetter sah am Anfang vielversprechend aus; allerdings je näher wir der Marmolada kamen umso mehr zug es sich zu. Als wir dann endlich oben waren und ich auf der Aussichtsplatform stand, sah man in eine Nebelwand.

Naja, wir hatten trotzdem Spaß zusammen.

“Marmolada” – finally see the glacier

Marmolada (Ladin: Marmoleda) is the highest mountain of the Dolomites (a section of the Alps).
On the north side there is a comparatively flat glacier, the only large glacier in the Dolomites (the Marmolada Glacier).

 

One thing you kinda have to do while you are here, go to the Marmolada Glacier. You are not able to reach the top but very close by.
